Safety and Cybersecurity Share a System: Why HARA and TARA Need to Connect

Connect causal reasoning, constraints and evidence while keeping safety and cybersecurity risk decisions independent.

A cybersecurity control can prevent malicious commands and still interfere with timely braking. A hypothetical brake-control example shows how HARA and TARA can share system context, expose conflicting requirements and support joint change review without merging their risk classifications.

Inside AegisSafeForge: Connecting HARA and TARA Without Merging Their Decisions

How governed relationships connect threats, hazardous events, goals and evidence while preserving specialist responsibility.

A cybersecurity control can support a safety requirement and also constrain its timing. Follow a hypothetical braking example through ASF’s connected HARA and TARA workflow, from reviewed relationships to stale links, shared evidence and export gates.

From a University Thesis to AegisSafeForge: Building a Better Workspace for Safety Engineering

How a Master’s thesis on AI-assisted hazard classification grew into a connected safety engineering platform for traceability, review, and governed AI workflows.

AegisSafeForge began as a University of Kassel Master’s thesis on AI-assisted HARA for battery management systems. It grew into a broader platform for connected safety artifacts, traceability, collaboration, and human-governed AI workflows.

Aegis SafeForge is official: registered, NVIDIA Inception, and a CRA talk at electronica

The company is registered, we joined NVIDIA Inception, and on 12 November we show a reproducible SBOM-to-CRA-evidence workflow at edge lab LIVE! in Munich.

Three firsts, one issue

\n

This is the first Aegis SafeForge newsletter. Short, factual, and only when there is something to say. Here is what happened since the summer.

\n

01 · CompanyAegis SafeForge is officially registered

\n

Since 27 October 2026, Aegis SafeForge UG (haftungsbeschränkt) is entered in the commercial register at Amtsgericht Kassel, HRB 20905, with its seat in Kassel. What began as a master’s thesis on AI-assisted risk classification in October 2025 and went full time in March 2026 is now a company that can sign pilot agreements, NDAs and data-processing terms in its own name.

\n

Nothing changes for the product: ASF Core still drafts HARA, FMEA, TARA and RAMS rows from your sources, and a named engineer still approves every one of them.

\n

02 · ProgrammeWe joined the NVIDIA Inception Program

\n

Aegis SafeForge is now a member of NVIDIA Inception, NVIDIA’s programme for startups building with AI. For us it means technical resources, training and a partner network for the retrieval and drafting behind ASF Core, and better hardware access for the self-hosted deployments our customers ask for. Membership is not an endorsement or certification of the product.

\n

03 · On stageMeet us at electronica 2026: Thursday, 12 November, 12:30

\n

Next week Muhammad Aashir speaks at edge lab LIVE!, the conference programme at electronica in Munich (10–13 November, Messe München): “From Firmware Build to CRA Evidence: A Reproducible SBOM and Vulnerability Workflow”, Thursday 12 November, 12:30–13:00. The session walks from a firmware build to an SBOM, through vulnerability triage and VEX, to the evidence the Cyber Resilience Act asks for, with the reporting duties that have applied since 11 September in view. Live, reproducible, no slides-only.

\n

Not registered yet? The code FRIEND-AEGIS gives 20% off all edge lab LIVE! passes, and registration includes a free electronica ticket. If you are at the fair, reply to this mail and we will find 20 minutes around the session.

Also new on the site: a robotics and machinery profile for ISO 10218 and ISO 13849-1, and the three industries ASF Core now focuses on: automotive, robotics and railway.
